Hi all,

I have 19 organisation with each their own AD which need to be migrated to an already exisiting Azure AD.

On top of that all exisiting data from local file servers, sharepoints, teams and onedrives need to be migrate.

My question:

  1. Should we first do a full domain migration and afterwards the datamigration or visa versa?
  2. Is there a template available or checklist that is usable during the analysis phase? Or a migration plan?

    Hello Timothy,

For migrating local file servers and applications you should take a look at Azure Migrate:

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/migrate/

For connecting your users to the Cloud you should be taking a look at Azure AD Connect to get your users off of local AD:

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/hybrid/connect/how-to-connect-install-roadmap

I would recommend starting by getting your users connected to the Cloud and ensure that the connection to Azure AD is solid. Then begin you migration of data to M365/Azure services.

Once you have everything working in M365/Azure, you can cut the hybrid connection and move to cloud only.
