I'm unable to create a Resource Group

I'm signed in to Azure with a newly created account. When I attempt to provision a Resource Group with parameters:

  1. Subscription: my 'Visual Studio Enterprise Subscription'
  2. Resource group: <a unique name>
  3. Region: '(Canada) Canada Central'

I'm presented with error:

'Resource '<a unique name>' was disallowed by policy. (Code: RequestDisallowedByPolicy)'

I had a look at the 'Raw Error' and believe there may be sensitive account info in it, so I will not include in this description.

If anyone has overcome this issue I would love to hear the resolution. Thanks.

    Hi Stewart,

I can't identify the policy without the error detail, however you can solve yourself if its configuration

Firs identify the policy name in the error.

    Go to policy in azure

    User's image

Search the policy assigment that you need and start the modification.

    User's image

Let me know if this help, if you can help with the error detail can be better.

    Luis
