How to remove old account from authenticator

I no longer have access to an old work account (from a previous job), but it's still on my authenticator, and periodically asks me to sign in to the account. I can't remove it by clicking on the account and using the gear icon, as when I click on the account it asks for me to sign in, which I can't do (the gear icon for an account only shows if you're already signed in and can bring up the full account details when you click on the account in the list). How do I remove the account from authenticator when I can't access it? I can't contact anyone from the old company to do so either.

    You can remove it from the device and it will disappear. For my android phone it is in Setting\Passwords & accounts
