Getting error while bulk excel upload in asp.net after making https

Recently i migrated application from http:// to https://

Application hosted in IIS in windows server properly and it is working fine.

Before making https://, excel bulk upload was working properly in browser.

After making https://, while uploading the bulk data through excel, either the page is keep on running and after some time, it throws an error like session expired or page couldn't be found.

But, when i run the application locally in server, it is working fine.

But, when browsing application through IIS link, it is not working.

How to find the exact problem in the bulk upload....?

How to find the exact problem in the bulk upload....?

Do basic troubleshooting and logging. What is the URL that causes the 404 (Not Found)? What does "session expired" mean? Is there an error message that goes with "session expired"?

Is there any way you can provide code the reproduces this error?

Hum, I have and do development on some asp.net sites. When I develop local, I don't run https. However, when deployed to production, I add some re-write rules (any http: is redirected to https, and of course the production web site has a security certificate).

And we do lots of file uploading and file processing. I never seen any error crop up due to us now using https.

Perhaps you use some custom file handler here?

I would take a quick look at your code that saves the Excel file, and how you are resolving the path name. (so, does the path name and code to save the Excel file work, or does the processing AFTER the file been up-loaded fails?).

As pointed out, without much more information, we are much guessing here.

However, I can say with high confidences that flipping a site to using https and a security certificate?

I not seen errors appear in regards to file loading occur.

About the only case was I had some hard coded path names in my code, and that code had http in place of https. That's my bad idea here. So, I do have some code that requires me to change/setup a database with some config values for production sites. In those pathnames in that database, I have/had some path names that included the site's base URL, and thus that database had to be updated to reflect the correct path names and base URL of the site (as noted, poor code on my part).

So, just introduction of https should not cause an issue. However, some code that resolves URL's to path names could be at issue, especially when http was used as part of some strings in such code.

I would search the whole site code based and markup with a shift-ctrl-f, and search the WHOLE site for http: and see what appears.

I have changed all the places to https://.

i used F12 and found some http://. But, this is not our inside the application and reference page.

when i SHIFT+CTRL+F from F12, below is the screenshot.

where is the problem and how to find the exact blocking...?

Do you mean the issue that can occur is one of these two cases, does it random?

In addition, if possible, please provide more details so that the community can better understand your problem and provide possible help, like error messages mentioned above or logs or a minimal example to reproduce the problem etc.
