Extract IssuingAuthority from idDocument.nationalIdentityCard

Is it possible to extract the "IssuingAuthority" for the document type idDocument.nationalIdentityCard. Most documents I tests have this field anyway and also the recognition looks promising that the value would be extracted properly

The idDocument.passport has this field IssuingAuthority . But for idDocument.nationalIdentityCard doesn't have IssuingAuthority field.

Generally, for the National Identity cards I don't think we have Issuing Authority field like for passport. Do you have any document sample related to this.

For the idDocument.passport we already extract the field so this is not the problem. As we deal mostly with European identity cards and residence permits we were wondering why this field isn't extracted by default.

I have also some samples for you, where the Issuing Authority is mostly on the back of the identity card

Here are also all the European card available https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_identity_cards_in_the_European_Economic_Area

German Id Card (Authority):

Also for European driver licenses the field could be extracted it's always the value in 4c:

Austrian Id Card (Back):

Hungary Id Card (Back):

Poland Id Card:

however as the Driver License, Identification Card and Residence Permit are supported in Europe, it would make a lot of sense that the extraction of this additional data would also be supported then.

Hello @VasaviLankipalle-MSFT , thanks for the answer, but why is the Identification Card and the Driver License on the list of supported documents for Europe but does not extract the fields available on those documents?

Would it be also helpful that I create a Azure support ticket on our subscription that the filed is missing for the European documents? To extract the missing filed with a separate model is not really acceptable and also not very cost efficient

Hello Johannes Fasching, as I previously stated, if you are looking for IssuingAuthority, this field is retrieved for just passport documents, regardless of region. As a result of this feature limitation, this field cannot be retrieved from other document types.

@VasaviLankipalle-MSFT thanks for your answer. I understand the product limitations, but it should be possible, to at least add a feature request somewhere. It shouldn't be that hard, to add a additional field to a already existing model on your side.
