Hi Support,

I have SCCM server (CB2207), SQL 2012 server and WSUS server installed in Windows 2012r2. Now I want to migrate the OS to Windows 2019, the SCCM server to CB2303 and SQL to 2019

Anything miss/wrong if I follow below step for the migration?

  1. Migrate the DB (CM, ReportServer and SUSDB) from SQL 2012 to SQL 2019 server in Windows Server 2019 by using Backup/Restore
  2. Backup the CM site Server
  3. Setup a new Win2019 server, and install the SCCM prerequisites
  4. Copy the backup content from old server to new server
  5. Rename and shutdown the old site server, rename the new server to the name of old server
  6. Run the wizard to restore the SCCM
  7. Reconfigure the Reporting service in SQL 2019
  8. Migrate WSUS to new WSUS server
  9. Reconfigure the Report and WSUS role in SCCM
  10. Update CB2303 in SCCM

Thanks

Chong

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.

Per my experience, the steps you list should work. Make sure the FQDN and IP address of the new server are the same as the old one. Helpful articles for your reference:
