This server VRPSCCMIBCM01 has been decommissioned 1 year ago, why is it still appearing in this log? How to clean this?

Thanks,
Dom

    Hi Dom,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.

It seems that remnants of this decommissioned server's configuration still exist in your SCCM environment. Is this decommissioned server a MP? Please try the following:

1,Check your Active Directory and ensure that all Active Directory records and objects related to the decommissioned server are removed. This includes computer objects, DNS records, and any SCCM-specific attributes associated with the server.

2,Open the SCCM console and navigate to "Administration" > "Site Configuration" > "Servers and Site System Roles." Make sure that the decommissioned server is not listed there. If it is, remove it.

3,Restart the "SMS_EXECUTIVE" service on the SCCM site server. This might help refresh the SCCM component's configuration and potentially resolve issues related to the decommissioned server.

Thanks for your time. Have a nice day!

    Best regards,

    Simon

    Hi Simon,

    Thank you for this information...

The server was the IBCM site server so yes it was a MP.

    1. Active Directory The server is diabled and in the Server Disabled OU.

DNS records there was a SRV Target record still existing .... it might be culprit.

    1. SCCM console: No server VRPSCCMIBCM01
    2. Restarted the "SMS_EXECUTIVE" service on the SCCM site server. Will check later on if the server is gone from the logs.

    Thanks,

    Dom

    Hi,

    Thanks for your reply.

You can delete the DNS records and AD object, then restarted the "SMS_EXECUTIVE" service on the SCCM site server to have a try. Hope it can help.

    Best regards,

    Simon
