Hi,

In the Microsoft 365 dashboard we see this message for some users:

Exchange: Failed to sync the ArchiveGuid 00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000 of mailbox .... because one cloud archive .... exists..;

The users are synchronized from Active Directory, but in the on-premises environment we don't have an Exchange Server and the AD schema doesn't contain Exchange Attributes.

Why does this error occur? Is there any way to "stop" this synchronization and set the archive as full cloud?

We tried to disable and re-enable the archive online: the message error disappears but it returns after some time (about a few hours).

Thank you.

Best regards,

Emanuele

    Hi @Emanuele Signorin ,

    Have you installed an on-premises Exchange Server before?

    It is recommended that you open AD Users and Computers and select Enable Advanced Features in the View menu to check if the user in question has the msExchArchiveGUID attribute.

    If so, please follow the steps below to check if it works and let me know for further testing: How to solve Failed to sync the ArchiveGuid in Office 365 (Manual) | 2 Azure

    Before performing the steps shared in the provided article, have you tried first removing the mailbox from the sync OU? Have you Updated the msExchArchiveGUID (ArchiveGUID) property value (set to 1) in the on-premises organization to match the Exchange Online value as in Validation errors for a mailbox archive GUID for Microsoft 365 users - Exchange | Microsoft Learn?
