I am trying to update a computer from Windows 10 (version 1709) to Windows 10 (version 22H2) but once the update is completed the computer restarts and it stays on the version 1709. I want to also mention that the computer is dual booted with Ubuntu. Has anyone come across this issue? How would I update the Windows OS without affecting the Ubuntu OS?

Windows setup generates log files that provide detailed information about the installation process. These logs are stored in a directory called "Panther." You can access these logs during and after the installation:

During Installation: Press Shift + F10 during the installation to open a Command Prompt. Then, navigate to C:$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources\Panther and use tools like Notepad to open the log files.

After Installation: Once Windows is installed, you can find the logs in C:\Windows\Panther.

    Event Viewer:

Windows Event Viewer stores logs of system events, including installation issues. To access it:

Press Windows Key + X and select "Event Viewer."

Navigate to "Windows Logs" > "Setup" to view setup-related events.

    Steps:

Create a bootable USB drive with the latest Windows 10 installation media. This will be used to perform the update. You can use the Media Creation Tool provided by Microsoft for this purpose.

Restart your computer and boot from the USB drive you created in the previous step. You might need to access your computer's BIOS/UEFI settings to change the boot order.

Follow the on-screen instructions to begin the Windows installation process. When you reach the installation type screen, select the existing Windows 10 partition where you want to install the update.

Once you've successfully updated to the new Windows version, visit the Windows Update settings to ensure you have the latest updates. Additionally, update your drivers as needed to ensure compatibility and optimal performance.

Boot into both Windows 10 and your other operating system to ensure that the dual-boot configuration is intact and both systems are functioning as expected.
