Hi! I am having this very bad error saying:

Windows Sandbox failed to initialize.

Error 0xc03a0014. A virtual disk support provider for the specified.

I have tried all possible solution by uninstalling and installing Optional Feature, sfc/scannow and tweaking the Registry as what microsoft website suggested about FsDepends . After all those changes and effort the error still keeps on showing, I do not understand where would I troubleshoot this. I have used Sandbox before but now I can't. I would greatly appreciate any help.

My System:

  • Windows 11 Pro
  • Virtualization enabled
  • All sandbox requirements installed.

Fixes tried:

  • Registry FsDepeneds "Start" set from 3 to zero.
  • Uninstall all Hyper-V/Windows Virtualization related in Optional Features. I reinstalled it back.
  • Sfc/scannow
  • Installed lastest updates.
  • Run troubleshoot.

All of these Did not fixed the problem. I am encountering multiple problem. If one error gets fixed another error will popup. But it was good seeing there we're improvements. I need help fixing this. Thanks!

    Hello there,

This error usually indicate that the Security settings of the specified .vhd are not configured properly.

First, ensure that you are a member of local Administrators group. And make sure the path is not a network mapped drive.

Then, check the specified .vhd file to see if all the Security settings are correct. You can do this by simply creating a new virtual hard disk and comparing the Security settings with the new created .vhd file.

Usually, you should (not limit to) give the current logon user Read and Write permissions, otherwise this problem may occur.

If the same error remains, you may need to re-install the server, upgrade to RC1 (not creating new virtual machines before upgrading)and then create new virtual machines with these existing .vhd files.

Hope this resolves your Query !!
