Are Shadow Copies in Windows 11 enabled by Default ?

Also want to know the location where they are created.

On my 22H2 Windows 11 PC, Volume Shadow Copy and Microsoft Software Shadow Copy Provider services are STOPPED, Should we create the restore points manually on Windows 11 ?

Hi,

Volume Shadow Copy is enabled on Windows 11and the storage space is allocated on the volume itself. You can run vssadmin list shadowstorage to show the details.

To configure the restore setting, please run "Create a restore point" from the start menus.

    Shadow copy is GONE for Windows 11. Shadow copy is only available on user data in network accessible folders on a server. Thanks for handcuffing the user Microsoft.
