Outlook for Mac 16.75.2

I'm a bit frustrated with the current state of Outlook for Mac.

  • With Legacy Outlook for Mac, I can connect to On-Premise Exchange, but I cannot add internet calendars (like Google Calendar).
  • With the New Outlook for Mac, I can connect directly to Google, including Google Calendar, but I cannot connect to On-Premise Exchange.
  • With Outlook for Windows, I can connect to On-Premise Exchange and Google services, including Google Calendar.
  • Even with native MacOS Mail and MacOS Calendar, I can connect with On-Premise Exchange and Google Calendar.

On-Premise Exchange support in the New Outlook for Mac has been "coming soon" for years at this point. I'm posting this simply hoping that Outlook for Mac product managers see this and can provide some definitive information on when On-Premise Exchange will be available in the New Outlook for Mac.

And please understand that I really appreciate the effort that is going into the New Outlook for Mac. However, it's difficult to recommend it when there are basic feature parity/Microsoft product compatibility issues.

Thank you.

    Hi @David H ,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A!

As regards to your query about the On-Premise Exchange support in the New Outlook for Mac, I tried searching a lot within all the resources I can touch but cannot see it mentioned anywhere about the exact time of the availability of this feature.

Like you've mentioned, according to the official document available, the On-Prem Exchange Account Support is "Coming Soon"/"Upcoming":

So, seems to me that the development is still ongoing and at present there is no estimated timeframe.

By the way, actually Outlook has an official feedback portal where customers can send feature requests or suggestions to the product team. I searched there and noticed that a similar idea has already been posted and the Outlook team has remarked that item as "We're working on this". I've added my vote there and I will leave the link below so that you or others see this topic can also vote it up or comment there.

Hopefully this can be developed and rolled out to end-users soon.

Are there any updates on this? I'm close to getting rid of everything Microsoft if there is no solution yet.

What is taking them so long to fix this? I see other people all over Google having errors and Microsoft apparently has yet to fix it.

An important part of my professional and personal life involves an organization with an exchange server now not supported by Outlook on my Mac. I can only wait so long before I am compelled to change.

Microsoft has finally added support for on-premises Exchange. I've just updated it, and it's working now.
