Databricks Workspace dropdown does not populate workspaces you are a member of by group association

The workspace dropdown in Azure Databricks is only populated when your user is assigned to a workspace directly. If you are assigned/ privileged to a workspace through a workspace group, the workspace will not show up on your workspace dropdown.

Assuming this is not expected behavior as it is best practice (and much easier) to manage access ONLY at the group level.

Please advise!

@Dixon, Matthew - Thanks for the question and using MS Q&A platform.

It is expected behavior that the workspace dropdown in Azure Databricks does not populate workspaces that you are a member of by group association. This is because the dropdown is designed to only show workspaces that you are directly assigned to, not through a workspace group.

However, you can still access workspaces that you are a member of by group association by navigating to the workspace URL directly. You can find the URL for a workspace by going to the workspace's landing page and copying the URL from the address bar of your browser.

Alternatively, you can ask the workspace administrator to assign you to the workspace directly instead of through a workspace group. This will allow the workspace to show up on your workspace dropdown.

Hope this helps. Do let us know if you any further queries.
