Windows 10 Assigned Access - Application issue

Running Win 10 and using MS Edge I'm running a intranet check-in software in Kiosk mode on 20+ systems. Aside from Windows 10, AV software is installed and the applications printing service.

I'm running into an issue where the check-in software isn't retaining its printer configuration, it need to be manually re-setup each time the end user starts a new session. A system with the same hardware and software but not using kiosk mode retains its printer configuration just fine. There are 4 of these non-kiosked stations and they each retain their printer configuration in the check-in program.

I tried adding the kiosk user account to the power user group but it didn't help. I attempted an auto-url to setup the printer when the user logs in manually but that didn't work.

The issue of printer re-configuation takes up time, time we don't have the luxury of giving.

What can be done, aside from jettisoning the Kiosk, to loosen things up a bit to allow whatever settings this program is creating or modifying in order to function properly and efficiently?

Since Windows 7, members of Power User have no more user rights or permissions than a standard user account. In your scenario, in order to make the check-in software retaining its printer configuration, add user into Administrator group for test.
If still no help, it means your software has some compatibility issue with Assigned access in kiosk mode.
You know, Assigned access is a feature that allows you to create a lockdown environment that lets users interact with only one app when they sign into a specified account. With Assigned access, users won't be able to get to the desktop, Start menu, or any other app, including the Settings app. Based on this prerequisite, your check-in software may have the different behave.
