Removing a device in Entra

Question

I used my wife's laptop on a few occasions to log into work files / folders. This device is now recorded in Entra (previously Azure AD).

Can I remove the device in Entra, without if affecting her files and folders on the device (which I no longer use)?

This operation should have no direct impact on the device's local files and folders. It would primarily affect the device's ability to use its device identity to authenticate to Azure AD or other cloud services.
