Sql Server 2022 Developer edition getting Exit code (Decimal): 2061893607, Could not find the Database Engine startup handle

Question

I have been trying download Sql Server 2022 Developer edition and have been getting the error code in the title. I run the setup application as administrator and then accept the terms, I choose basic installation, and everything downloads correctly, then during installation it stalls at "Installing SQL Server... Running Action: SqlEngineDBStartConfigAction_install_configrc_Cpu64". I have tried several times every time uninstalling all related SQL Server files. I am running Windows 10 version 21H2. I have attached my errorlog file here: ERRORLOG.txt

The error you get is a symptom of a corrupted default profile in Windows. I recall that when I ran into this some years ago, I did some googling. I think the suggestion was to copy the default profile from another Windows computer. (Although in my case, I might have restored it from a backup.)

If the SQL Server service account is domain account, please check the local profile of the Service account for problems.
