Is it possible to create multiple managed identities in Azure Synapse. For example if a pipeline in synapse have four copy activities, Can each activity have a separate managed identity?

Hey,

Managed Identity is an identity/feature at Azure offering level and not component within it.

So you can have the managed identity only at the ADF / Synapse level and not at a pipeline or activity level.

Thank you Nandan, Usually what we use by default is the name of the synapse workspace as managed identity. So can I create multiple managed identities for a synapse workspace?

Hey, For an Azure offering there can be only 1 Active Identity at a time.

You can create multiple user assigned identities but at a point of time only one can be assigned to it.
