I open a spreadsheet in a folder, along with other spreadsheets in other folders, and later close the first spreadsheet. When I go to change the folder name it won't because it thinks that Excel still has a file open in the folder. The only solution I have found is to close ALL the other spreadsheets before continuing.
This is obviously very irritating as I then have to re-open the other files again, rather than leaving them open, before I can update them.
Opening and then closing the spreadsheet in Visual Studio does not have this behavior.
Is there some way to prevent Excel from telling Explorer that it has a file open that is Not open?
