Yes, the FHIR Service in Azure Health Data Services is a Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) offering that provides a fully managed deployment of the open-source FHIR Server. This means that Microsoft manages the underlying infrastructure, including servers, storage, and networking, while customers are responsible for managing their data and applications.

    By default, the FHIR Service takes a backup every 12 hours that is kept for 7 days. A customer can open a ticket to do a point in time restore of their data. This is intended to be used for recovery in DR scenarios or in the case of accidental deletion of the service. customers should not use this as part of normal operations.
