Unable to install Windows Server Connector for SBS 2011 on Windows 10 Pro client

I have just upgraded to a larger system drive and now the PC (client) is not visible in the SBS 2011 Essentials dashboard. I removed the Windows Small Business Server 2011 Connector, rebooted and reinstalled but it was not reinstalled. I rebooted and tried again. But it kept failing on trying to install the connector, saying the PC was connected to another netwrok. So I logged out, logged in to a local account and after much searching removed the client from the domain and joined a workgroup. I rebooted. When I run the connector installer it now says "An unexpected error has occurred. For more information, see Troubleshoot connecting computers to the server." But that page is out of date and does not provide a solution.

I have had similar problems before when updating hardware, but removing the connector and reinstalling has always worked.

More Windows frustration. I hope someone can provide a solution!

Thanks...

Just in case anyone else has the same problem, the answer is to connect using the admin account. It will warn you not to, so select No then wait for it. Log out, then back in with your user account.

I tried all sorts of things and lost most of the day. MS wanted to charge a substantial fee, so hopefully if someone else has the same problem this will save a great deal of time and money.
