Hello,

How do i connect with another computer via network sharing I can see computer on network but i can't access it. I'm getting an error. It's asking me for network credentials. I have another computer with windows 10 where I don't have a problem logging in from that computer.

    Here are the steps:

On the Computer You Want to Share From:

    Enable File and Printer Sharing:

    • Go to the Control Panel or Settings (search for it in the Start menu).
    • Navigate to Network and Sharing Center > Change advanced sharing settings.
    • Turn on Network discovery, File and printer sharing, and possibly Public folder sharing.

    Share a Folder:

    • Right-click on the folder you want to share and select Properties.
    • Go to the Sharing tab.
    • Click on the Share button.
    • Select the users or groups you want to share the folder with.
    • Set their permission level (Read, Read/Write, etc.).
    • Click Share and then Done.

On the Computer You Want to Access the Shared Folder:

    Access Shared Folder:

    • Open File Explorer.
    • In the address bar, type the following: \\computername (replace "computername" with the name of the computer you're connecting to).
    • Press Enter.

    OR

    • Open File Explorer.
    • Click on the Network tab in the left sidebar. Your shared computer should appear here.
    • Double-click on the computer to access its shared folders.

    Enter Credentials (If Required):

    • If prompted, enter the username and password of an account on the computer you're connecting to. This is to authenticate your access.
    1. Access the Shared Folder:
    • You should now see the shared folders on the remote computer.
    • Double-click on the shared folder you want to access and interact with its contents.

    Quick workaround that actually works:

On the sharing PC, create a simple local user:

    Settings > Accounts > Other users > Add account > “I don’t have this person’s sign-in info” > “Add a user without a Microsoft account”.

Make username like: shareuser, set an easy password.

On the PC you’re using to connect:

When the credentials box pops up, enter:

    Username: SHARINGPCNAME\shareuser

Password: the password you set above.

Tick “Remember my credentials” so you only do this once.

That usually kills the prompt for good and is less painful than fighting Windows’ “no password” quirks.
