I have many workgroup computers(not join domain) need to implement local password policy under(secpol.msc) to set 90 days password expiry but I would like to maintain the default administrator account password never expires. If I manually set the default administrator account password never expires(under compmgmt>users) will it overwrite the local policy?

in my case, default administrator account password should never expires.

Hello cp pang,

Thank you for posting in our Q&A forum.

Q: If I manually set the default administrator account password never expire (under compmgmt>users) will it overwrite the local policy?
A: No, it will not overwrite the local password policy. All the local users will apply the local password policy, and the default administrator account password will never expire.

Hope the information above is helpful. If you have any question or concern, please feel free to let us know.

Best Regards,
Daisy Zhou
