Old Email account used for Archive

I have an inactive Gmail account within Outlook that is used to keep and store old emails. The account holds 20 years of important emails that I need to reference regularly. The account was an inactive email account that somehow outlook is attempting to IMAP and force it to become active. Since I do not have a gmail account, Google continues to pop up a message, One account of Google.

How do I modify the account settings to remove the imap gmail server details, so that the account is accessible for the history of emails, yet does not attempt to connect to Gmail or any other server. I basically want an archive account that is available within Outlook for storage and accessibility.

    Hi @Cella

The account was an inactive email account that somehow outlook is attempting to IMAP and force it to become active.

If you don't want to enable IMAP for your Gmail account, go to Settings> Forwarding and POP/IMAP> Disable IMAP.

To have your Gmail account only access and archive in Outlook and not connect to the server, first set Gmail to offline mode, then modify your Gmail account's send/receive settings in Outlook to not send or receive automatically. Unless you manually perform a send/receive operation.

To send or receive automatically, you can refer to the following steps: File> Option> Advanced> Send/Receive> Set the scheduled auto send/receive to 0 minutes.

    Hope this helps!
