How can I stop windows 11 from updating to 22H1, but keep other patches working? Preferably using an intune policy. I am using intune policies to update certain devices while keeping them at windows 10 and other policiees to update windows 11 devices, but I have some laptops that fail (video driver issue) at Windows 11 22H1 (H2 doesn't fix it). How do I keep the devices at windows 11 21H2? Preferrably while allowing all other updates?

A few things could be done:

Windows allows you to pause updates for a specific period. This could be useful to temporarily prevent updates, including major feature updates like 22H1.

    • Go to Settings > Windows Update.
    • Click on Advanced options.
    • Under the Pause updates section, set a duration to pause updates. Note that this option may not be available indefinitely and may have a maximum pause period.

Group Policy (Windows Pro, Enterprise, or Education): If you have a higher edition of Windows, you can use Group Policy to have more control over updates.

    • Press Win + R, type gpedit.msc, and press Enter.
    • Navigate to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update.
    • Look for options related to "Defer Feature Updates" and "Select when Preview Builds and Feature Updates are received." Adjust these settings to your preference.

    Note:

Please note that Microsoft might change or update these settings in future releases. Additionally, delaying major feature updates can potentially leave your system vulnerable to security issues fixed in newer releases.
