If the administrator account is the problem, then create another administrator account and login and test and make sure it is working. Transfer your data to new account and then remove the old administrator account.

Yesterday I upgraded from win10 (1903) to win10 (22h). Everything was going well but about six hours later the computer slowed dramatically. I had not installed anything or made any changes to the system. I had performed a custom installation using an iso file on a bookable USB flash drive. The computer is a Lenovo Vivo with 4gb ram.

2023-08-20T00:34:00.25+00:00 Drivers are updated. System updates occur every time I power on or off. The slowdown occurred immediately after the second update after installing. I notice there are two identical entries for the cpu. Is this normal? The upgrade was difficult with repeated failed attempts. I finally succeeded with a custom install. With the installation finished I find there are two choices to login. One choice has my name. The other choice is administrator. Before the upgrade I logged on as administrator. After the upgrade logging in as administrator brings up a "Windows" that has none of the settings and preferences I had. Logging on with the new unexpected account that bears my name brings up a "Windows" that does contain my settings and preferences.

sfc /scannow
Press enter and let it runs and see what the result is?

2023-08-20T22:54:44.26+00:00 Scannow shows no lproblems..However after a great deal of automatic updates the computer runs normally again as long as I log in using the new account that bears my name. Now the question I have is this: how do I remove the faulty account which is the original administrator account?.
