Depending on your description, it may be caused by Gmail setup issues, try the following possible methods:
- Check SMTP and other settings in your email client. More information, see: Fix problems connecting your Google account to the Microsoft Cloud - Microsoft Support.
- Enable folders in Gmail to appear in IMAP. Go to Gmail.com > Settings > Labels > Show in IMAP.
