i have XMLA script to create the Analysis service database.

i try to deploying the script with both primary and secondary server in the AAG environment.

i'm facing an issue while running the script - Internal error: An unexpected error occurred (file 'pcserialize.cpp', line 1535, function 'ASDatabase::Serialize').

i struck more than a week with this issue.

I hit this issue on AWS and I finally resolved - 

 1. Locate msmdsrv.ini file (C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL
    Server\MSAS16.MSSQLSERVER\OLAP\Config\)
 2. Create a copy as a backup
 3. Remove the line <Gen2ServerKey>1</Gen2ServerKey> and save
 4. Restart SSAS Service

Googling "Gen2ServerKey" doesn't show anything so not sure what this does although I've not hit any issues since removing it.

This was very useful, and now I can execute my XMLA script and create an Analysis service database.

I am running into the exact same issue .I tried this option , but , it did not fix it. Anyone else have tried a different option and were able to fix it ?

Open SQL Server Management Studio to log in

Establishing a fresh login for the NT Service MSSQLServerOLAPService.

determining the memberships for the db_datareader and db_datawriter roles.

Also try to change the account.
