Windows 10 Pro 64 Offline File Sync works on Lenovo workstations with Server 2012R2, but not on Lenovo laptops running Windows 2010

We have four Windows 10 Pro 64 workstations networked, all Lenovo (2 workstations & 2 laptops) with a Windows 2012 R2 file server. Everything worked perfectly when workstations were on Windows 7 Pro 64, purchased new workstations last year to Windows 10. One laptop will have ~850 errors when Syncing, when offline I can open all non-Microsoft files but cannot open Word or Excel files (not greyed out nor any X indication on file). The other Laptop does not show any errors on Sync but has the same end issue, can open non-Microsoft files but not Word or Excel I have no issue if connected in the office or remotely but if there is no connection then cannot open files. Oddly enough, have no issue whatsoever opening all files if I take the workstations (but not laptops) offline in the office. I would just move to upgrade network sooner if there is no easy fix but hoping there might be a relatively simple policy, profile, or laptop/server settings adjustment that can be done, would prefer not moving files to Sharepoint or installing an add on file sync service. TIA.

    Hello,

Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.

I'll provide you with some general troubleshooting steps that you can try:

    1.Check File Permissions:

Make sure that the user accounts on the laptops have the permission to access and modify files on the server.

    2.Update Microsoft Office 365

Some fixes may be contained in the latest version release.

3.Make sure that both Windows 10 and Microsoft Office are fully updated on the laptops.

4.Temporarily disable antivirus and firewall on the laptops and check if the issue persists.

Before making changes to system settings, it's always a good idea to back up important data.
