Hi
there are mails that do not have index in most archive, what is the reason?
Is the only way to re-assign the index the only way is to move the DB?
I saw in the MS document that the command does not work.

What Exchange server version are you using?
If you are using Exchange 2016 or before, you can rebuild index for the database following the guide in this documentation:
Reseed the content index catalog if there is only one copy of the mailbox database
If you are using Exchange 2019, the index is stored in each mailbox.
You can rebuild the index by migrating the mailbox to another database.

The cause may vary so it is hard to tell without further investigation.

Unfortunately to my knowledge currently there is no other supported method in Exchange 2019.

Do you have any other history or Theory?
It seems to happen especially in archive.
If the databases hosting the archive mailboxes are on a specific server, better have a check if the Microsoft Exchange Search service is running and if the server had performance issues when this issue occurred.

DB is located inside the mail server.
Some mails do not have index in the same DB.
It doesn't seem to be a server's performance or service problems.
I just want to know the various causes and history of this happening.
As for the solution, I got that there was only a way to move the DB.

It could be due to performance issue, database corruption, disk writing issues caused by anti-virus or other causes.
