IMCP Traffic from Microsoft IP addresses

I am putting ACL's in place to limit what can connect into our subnets. Everything is working but I am getting a bunch of denied ICMP traffic coming from Microsoft IP addresses. Is that traffic necessary for microsoft to function properly? What happens if I don't allow it? What is its purpose?

Azure blocks and denies all inbound public traffic by default, including ICMP traffic. This is good as it improves security by reducing the attack surface.
So please refer this thread to check the settings.

- Can you confirm if you are using an Azure VM?
- Or you are using a local server with IIS installed
