Hi all,

we are experiencing a problem with our Server 2022 downloading updates.

we have one Policy for all the servers with the correct settings for downloading Updates from our WSUS. Every server is working fine, exept Windows Server 2022, which tries to download the Updates from Microsoft instead of the WSUS. Reporting to WSUS works, and the registry settings are correct.

Things ive already tried:

download via sconfig: Error 0x80240024, which means there is no internet connection, which is correct. Firewall setiings are correct, so connection to WSUS works.

download of https://myservername:8531/selfupdate/wuident.cab works fine.

Does anyone have an idea?

    It sounds like Dual scan

    https://www.ajtek.ca/wsus/dual-scan-making-sense-of-why-so-many-admins-have-issues/

Run down the troubleshooting, but I'll start you off at the scan source

    https://www.ajtek.ca/wsus/client-machines-not-reporting-to-wsus-properly/#ScanSource

But you might want to start from the top.

That was actually the problem, thank you! What was confusing me was that some of these 2022 servers were able to download updates and some weren´t.

Do you know at which point Windows is choosing between downloading from Microsoft and WSUS?
