Hello!

After configuring my SQL1 server as master server and SQL2 as the target I've created the maintenance plan (Backup system databases) to be executed on both servers:

0

Here it is:1

The plan is working without a single issue...
2

...but it does nothing on the target server - SQL2!

Furthemore, should I uncheck the "local" in the Servers window (meaning the MP would run only on the target SQL2 server)...

3

...the new .bak files are created only on SQL1 - not on SQL2!!!

???

Thank you in advance,
Michael

...tried to test it once again: set a new Master server, created a new maintenance plan (in strictly complience with the MS's official "Administering Database Infrastructure" guide) for the two servers - SQL1 and SQL2:

    10

    11

    Again, according to the guide:

"In Object Explorer, right-click SQL Server Agent, point to Multi Server Administration, and then

    click Manage Target Servers.

    1. In the Target Server list, click MIA-SQL\SQL2, and then click Force Poll."

    My result:

    Q1

Nevertheless, the poll has already ended successfully - in spite of the error above! :

    09

This time executing the plan does not even produce the error for the remote execution because the maintenance plan turns out to have only one target - Local server:

Is it a bug or am I missing anything???
