When I try to do a "sync" from VS to my Dev Ops repository, VS just hangs and eventually times out. If I then check git status from a command line, I get this error
Only thing I can do is force VS to close with task manager. Any idea what is happening? Git push hangs from a command line as well.

Does this issue also appear on another machine? Could you please share us some git logs for further check?
setx GIT_TRACE %userProfile%\git.log
setx GCM_TRACE %userProfile%\git.log
setx GIT_TRACE_CURL %userProfile%\git.log
setx GIT_TRACE_PERFORMANCE %userProfile%\git.log
we ended up adding these file types to the .gitignore file and this resolved the issue.
