Hello Nadeem Hussain Joo
Welcome to Microsoft Q&A Platform, thanks for posting your query here.
Firstly, apologies for the delay in responding here and any inconvenience this issue may have caused.
Based on the issue description (facing an issue while generalizing the image for Azure Virtual Desktop), can occur due to various reasons such as outdated Windows version, corrupted user profile, or outdated drivers.
Please try these troubleshooting steps and see if these resolve your issue:
- Check if there are any pending Windows updates and install them. Y
- Check if there are any outdated drivers and update them.
- Create a new user profile and try to generalize the image again. Sometimes, a corrupted user profile can cause this issue.
- If none of the above steps work, you can try to generalize the image manually by following the steps below:
a. Open an elevated command prompt and navigate to the Sysprep folder by running the following command: cd C:\Windows\System32\Sysprep
b. Run the following command to generalize the image: sysprep.exe /oobe /generalize /shutdown
c. Wait for the VM to shut down and then create an image from the VM.
Hope this helps.
