How to assign roles in azure analysis services to visualize information in power bi by row level security (Dynamic or static)?

Do you have to assign the role from visual studio, from SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) or from both?

We have tried to follow the documentation and we have not been able to filter the access neither by a specified value nor by a dynamic filter. The goal is to filter the related dashboard by user name and email address
