Using GPU compute resources in a student account

Context

I have a Microsoft student developer account.

I need to do university related research using Llama models

My goal was to deploy a Llama model using the following process:

  • Create a VM with GPU
  • Access the VM using SSH
  • Download the Llama model and run it in the VM

Issue

It appears that I do not have enough quota to deploy a GPU Virtual Machine.

I tried clicking on the link to view and increase my quota

User's image

From my current understanding, I would need to increase the NV and NC family's quotas, but I cannot increase the quota above 6

I do not understand if

  • How to exactly increase the quota
  • Which family's quotas do I need to increase
  • If I need to increase dedicated cores or low priority cores

The process has been confusing for me. I would appreciate if someone could enlighten me on how to solve my issue. Thank you

Muhammed Aldulaimi Greetings & Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum!

How to exactly increase the quota

To request a limit increase, create an Azure Support request.

Unfortunately, Free subscriptions including Azure Free Account and Azure for Students aren't eligible for limit or quota increases.

If you have a free subscription, you can upgrade to a Pay-As-You-Go subscription. Default limit for Pay-As-You-Go subscription. Limit may differ for other category types.
