How to make SQL Server 2022 evaluation version officially licensed?
I would like to know if the DB is protected during evaluation when registering a license.
The databases are not "protected" in any way.
You can run with a product key an edition upgrade from Evaluation to Standard or Enterprise edition.
I guess Nobuhisa-san wants to know if something can happen with the databases when you register the license. And in that sense, the databases are protected. No matter the edition, SQL Server works hard to keep your data transactionally consistent.

the only issue you may face is that the Trial Edition has all the enterprise features. If you install a standard license, then the enterprise only features will be disabled. So if you used them, they will not work.
The database itself is completely safe, as installing a license does not affect the data, only sql features, which are around scaling, security and fault tolerance.
