How to shut off automatic end of line with Visual Studio and visual basic

I cannot stop visual studio from appending Lf to an outgoing COMx call.

When loading the project, it asks if I want to make the line endings consistent. For all intended purposes, I want them as I state them in code as they are mixed because I have 2 devices to communicate with and they have different requirements.

I unchecked the box in Options->Text Editor->General.

How do I disable Visual Studio from "helping"
