I created a dynamic distribution group in Exchange Online using PowerShell and it seems to work fine. However, when I tried to edit the group in the Admin Center GUI, I get this error:
"RecipientFilter: The length of the property is too long. The maximum length is 2048 and the length of the value provided is 2445."
My question is... Is the Recipient Filter actually working as it appears or could some of the intended recipients not be receiving messages?
More info... Set-DynamicDistributionGroup PowerShell cmdlet is unable to modify the RecipientFilter once it is created unless the new value is 2048 characters or less. Attempting to change an excessively long RecipientFilter value returns this error:
RecipientFilter: The length of the property is too long. The maximum length is 2048 and the length of the value
provided is 2628.

Yep. You can't change the maximum allowed in those properties.
Your only option is to create a filter that is under the allowed length.
@Andy David - MVP Does that mean that the group will not work as it is now with the overly long RecipientFilter value? New-DynamicDistributionGroup didn't give me any errors when I initially created the group.
If it exceeds the length, then it won't work, correct.
Exchange will calculate membership each time an email is sent to it.
