How to switch the management point of the client after configuring high availability in SCCM?

Hello,

In SCCM 2211, after configuring active-passive nodes, the client's assigned management point can be switched when there is a failover between the active and passive nodes. Can I switch the assigned management point on the client? How should client-assigned management points be switched?

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.

Per my experience, we can try to use the registry key called “AllowedMPs”, with this registry key you can force the client to communicate with a specific MP.

Navigate to the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\CCM . Create a REG_MULTI_SZ registry value named “AllowedMPs“. Add FQDN name of MP in the registry value, the “AllowedMPs” entry will restrict which MP a client can communicate with. Please do lab test before applying the change to your production environment.

Thanks for your time. Have a nice day!

    Best regards,

    Simon
