By connecting to Hyper-v Default Switch the VM can't ping it's IP

Environment

Host Windows version

Hyper-V manager version

Hyper-V configuration:

Issue:

My VM is not able to ping the IP of the connected Hyper-V switch

It seems incredible because the VM is configured to be connected to the Default Switch and they have the same network section and also in one LAN.

Because of this, the VM is also not able to access internet via the NAT supplied by Default Switch.

Could you help here? Thanks

Hi,

Please check the Windows Defender Firewall rules make sure ICMP is allowed. You can follow the steps in the below link.

To access internet, you have to change the type of the virtual switch to external or no physical NIC is connected to the virtual switch.
