After the server enable bitlocker, replacing the memory does not trigger a request to enter the key. Is this phenomenon normal?

Hi.

Yes, this phenomenon is normal. BitLocker does not use the memory as a factor to determine whether the system has been tampered with. BitLocker only checks the following components when the PC starts up:

  • BIOS or UEFI firmware
  • Boot manager
  • Master boot record (MBR) or GUID partition table (GPT)
  • Boot sector
  • Boot configuration data
  • Early launch anti-malware (ELAM) driver

If any of these components are modified, BitLocker will enter recovery mode and ask for the recovery key. Replacing the memory does not affect any of these components, so BitLocker will not require the recovery key.
Hope the information is helpful.

Best Regards,

Hania Lian
