Hello, I am using a Surface laptop go and I checked with PC health check and my laptop supports Windows 11 and this issue is mentioned in the update and security section of my laptop settings and the name of my laptop is in the list that Microsoft has provided and includes Surface laptops that will receive the Windows 11 update, but still I am not receiving the Windows 11 update, I want to download Windows 11 for free and I wanted to know that if I Windows 11 Should I install Windows 11 through the installation media? Does the installed Windows 11 remain active due to the previous Windows 10 license? Can I install Windows 11 through the free installation media without losing the Windows license that I have now?

Thank you for guiding me

    Hello Arshia,

Yes, you sure can upgrade for free from Windows 10 to Windows 11 using installation media or ISO like in the tutorial without losing anything or activation.

    Hello!

Microsoft is currently rolling out the Windows 11 update in phases, so it's possible that your device hasn't received the update yet. You can check for updates manually by going to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and clicking on "Check for updates."

Regarding your question about installing Windows 11 through installation media, you can use the Media Creation Tool to create installation media for Windows 11 and perform a clean installation. However, if your device is eligible for the free upgrade to Windows 11, you can also upgrade directly from Windows 10 without losing your license.

    Best Regards,
