Hi @Jennifer
For our better research, please provide more information about this case:
- What does the password prompt popup look like? Can you provide a screenshot (please be careful to cover your personal privacy information.)
- Do you have the same problem when logging in to another account?
- Can you log in normally using Outlook for Web?
To resolve this issue, you can try the following solutions:
- Please check your version of Outlook to make sure it is the latest version.
- Please check if you configure Outlook to always prompt you for login credentials. To find the settings, follow: File>Account settings> Account settings>Change>More settings>Security>User identification.
3.Different email provider may need different authentication settings. Please make sure you have set the server settings correctly. First select the “My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication option and “Use same settings as my incoming mail server option, then enter the correct server port number and encryption type in the Advanced tab, the following figure is a screenshot of the IMAP.
- Please try disabling any security applications or antivirus software that might interfere with your Outlook connection.
Hope this helps!
