Azure-AD Password writeback not working when using MS Graph to reset user passwords via a synced service account

We are using an On-Prem synced service account to reset a user's password in Azure-AD via MS Graph. The password is reset in Azure but does not writeback to On-Prem AD. However, when resetting the password directly in Azure the password is written back to On-Prem AD. Can anyone assist with this one? I have uploaded a screenshot of the audit log Reset_password_Password_WriteBack_MSGraph.JPG
