Why is my network profile changing automatically from public to private?

Why is my network profile changing automatically from public to private? I believe this is the reason why Windows is showing no internet connection even while I still have working internet. I'm writing here on the same laptop that says no internet connection. I'm able to use browsers and download from the internet, but Windows store and windows update does not work as they both say there is no internet connection.

When I disconnect and reconnect the Wi-Fi it show up as public and it shows that I have internet, but then quickly changes from public to private and shows no internet connection. The option to switch from private to public does not show up.

Please help me fix this!

Thank you

    Hi,@Joe MJ

I may need more information to help you deal with this question: 1. Did this problem happen suddenly? 2. Is it local network or Azure net? 3. Did you add a domain? Is it a domain member? 3. What did you do when the problem occurred (updated system version or firewall, or added new group policy?).

Depending on your current situation, this could be due to a network policy setting that is enabled on your computer or due to the firewall defender.

We can start with some troubleshooting: 1. Turn off the firewall 2. Try disabling the network policy for the private endpoint 3. Check if there are any Azure Policy guest configurations that might affect your network settings.

    Hope the information is helpful.

    Best Regards,

    Hania Lian
