I try to create a staging slot in my web appl with the name staging and the system says name incorrect error

Since two days ago I am not able to create a staging slot because when I try it says the name of the staging slot is incorrect. That is not true because I use name=staging.

I also have upgrade my plan because I was getting small for the number of my applications but now is ok.

Based on the shared information, I have understand that you are trying to create a slot in app service from portal and it is failing with invalid host name.

Could you please retry the same operation using the PowerShell cmdlet New-AzWebAppSlot or using the AzCLI cmdlet az webapp deployment slot create cmdlet.

If you are still facing the issue, please do help us with the request details like webapp Name, slot name , last four digits of your subscription id, operation/correlation Id and issue timestamp (UTC) to check and assist you further on this.

I have ran the following script:

$azSubscriptionId = '****---------------942f'

Connect to Azure

Connect-AzAccount -Subscription $azSubscriptionId

New-AzWebAppSlot -ResourceGroupName prd-****----rg -Name "pizzato" -AppServicePlan "prd-rr-**" -Slot "Slot001"

Disconnect from Azure

Disconnect-AzAccount

My result was (and the staging was not created):

New-AzWebAppSlot : Operation returned an invalid status code 'BadRequest'

The issue is the same with all my applications. I can't create any slot anymore using powershell or from the portal

@Arnau Colldeforns Thanks for your patience on this. I have summarized our offline discussion and posting the same as an answer for the benefit of other community members.

Our App Service engineering team has identified a bug, and a fix has been deployed to mitigate this issue.

Post the fix deployment customer has confirmed that. they are able to create the deployment slot without any issues.
