Creating reference Image for different hardware (VM to Physical)

Hi,

I am creating image Windows 10 /Windows 11 (.wim file). This image is supposed to be deployed on different hardware profiles. I just created reference image on HyperV VM and then deployed on physical hardware and then drivers for each unique hardware.
Note: Image was properly "generalized" with Sysprep.
Deployed machines are just fine (so far).

Question: Is this approach good? Any precaution /suggestions for improvements?
Or its recommended to start image creation on specific hardware.?

Yes, this is a good and recommended approach. Generally speaking, we recommend capturing images on virtual machines to eliminate the physical hardware specific issues.

Thanks for your time. Have a nice day!

    Best regards,

Perfect, then I don't need to worry much about the special cleanup /deletions etc. Or should trust on Sysprep that it will generalize it and will not keep any VM info ... correct?
