Is there a way to prompt for the device category during the Autopilot ESP

We have a number of departments with different configurations and apps. We use device categories to manage this within Intune, however currently the user has to manually open Company Portal and select the category once they are presented with the desktop (after Autopilot ESP).

Is there a way to prompt for the device category during the Autopilot ESP?

Yes, it is possible to prompt for the device category during the Autopilot Enrollment Status Page (ESP) using Windows Autopilot and Microsoft Intune. This can be achieved by customizing the Autopilot profile and creating a dynamic device group based on the device category.

Here are the steps to achieve this:

1. Create Device Categories in Intune: In the Microsoft Endpoint Manager admin center, navigate to Devices > Windows > Enrollment Status Page > Device Categories. Create the device categories that you want to use.
2. Customize the Autopilot profile: In the Microsoft Endpoint Manager admin center, navigate to Devices > Windows > Windows enrollment > Enrollment Status Page. Customize the Autopilot profile by setting the Device Category to "Dynamic" and selecting the device categories that you created in step 1.
3. Create Dynamic Device Group: In the Microsoft Endpoint Manager admin center, navigate to Groups > New group. Create a dynamic device group based on the device category selected in the Autopilot profile. You can set the criteria to match the device category chosen by the user.
