Is there a way to bulk update default assignment settings | Teams for education

I'd like to update the assignment app settings in assignments in Teams for education to change the default deadline, doing so manually for 6,000 teams isn't an option unfortunately. The graph API endpoint for it isn't working so I was wondering if there was another method for this?

Based on your description, you could try the following steps:

In the left navigation of the Microsoft Teams admin center, go to Teams > Teams policies.

Select the Group policy assignment tab.

Search for and add the group you want to assign the policy to, and then select Apply.

I appreciate the response but unfortunately, this is totally unrelated.

I'm not trying to apply a teams policy, teams policies only restrict the creation and invitation of teams channels.

I've updated my question to clarify that I'm referring to assignment settings in relation to educational assignments given to students. When talking about assignment deadlines, this is the deadline that teams set for students to hand in work.

But the recommended methods don't work (Graph API endpoint for default assignment settings), hence seeing if anyone had found a good workaround as I assume this is a common problem.

Yup, this is how teachers can individually do it at the moment, but we have just over 6 thousand classes I'll need to update this setting on and I can't rely on our end users to do it themselves. I was wondering if there was a way to do it somewhere where it could apply to all of our classes at once. Or a way to save time.

I have now written up a script to masquerade as a user and call the same API that doing it manually in the teams app would, but this is definitely not an intended way of doing it and I was hoping there was a cleaner or official way.
